Vivienne​ co-founded Genesis Law Corporation in 2004 with the vision of a legal practice that provides high quality legal services, anchored on the values of truth, justice and integrity, and accessible to those in need of it.
Vivienne started practice in 1996 as a civil and commercial Litigator. She has experience handling a broad range of cases involving corporate / commercial disputes, partnership / shareholders disputes, banking and insolvency, building and construction claims, medical negligence claims, insurance matters, family law and matrimonial disputes, probate and administration disputes, company law, property law, employment law, and defamation claims. Her clients have appreciated her tactical acumen and the practical and cost-effective solutions she provides them. She is someone you would want in your corner in a dispute.
​Vivienne's practice has since grown to encompass a large portfolio of non-contentious matters. Vivienne is regularly sought to assist and advice on corporate governance, advisory and commercial transactions. She also runs an active retail conveyancing practice and routinely acts for individual and corporate clients (including CPF Board, banks and financial institutions) in the sale, purchase, mortgage, lease and tenancy of residential and commercial properties.
Through her extensive involvements in the charity and non-profit sector (oftentimes on a pro bono basis), Vivienne has acquired vast experience and expertise in the area of charity law. She has advised and help set up a large number of local and international charities, IPCs (Institutions of a Public Character), social enterprises, non-profit organizations, and is frequently sought to act for and advice on governance, legal and regulatory compliance matters for charities, non-profit organisations, co-operative societies and companies.
Vivienne currently sits as Lead Independent Director of Far East Hospitality Asset Management and Far East Hospitality Trust Management, Managers of the Far East Hospitality Trust and is also Chairperson of the Nominating Committee. She has special interest in the area of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy for companies in Singapore.
Vivienne also has a special interest in and maintains an active Private Client group practice, advising individuals and families on succession planning, wills and estate matters as well as helping to establish family foundations and philanthropic organisations.
Vivienne graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1996. She is also a Notary Public. Vivienne has also been appointed by the Minister For Law to act as a Statutory Member of the Singapore Law Society Council.
Outside of her legal practice, Vivienne is the Chairperson of the CHIJ Board of Management (which oversees the management of the 11 Convent of Holy Infant Jesus Schools in Singapore), Vice-Chairperson of Catholic Foundation Limited, and a member of the Disciplinary Committee as well as Women’s Committee of the Football Association of Singapore.
