After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 2001, Benjamin started pupilage with the Financial Services department of the largest local law firm in Singapore, specialising in Banking and Finance. In May 2005, Benjamin joined the Corporate team of TSMP Law Corporation. He was later appointed as a Director in 2009. He started his second stint at Edmond Pereira & Partners (now corporatized as Edmond Pereira Law Corporation) in April 2012 to helm the Corporate and Transactions practice, where his main focus was White Collar criminal litigation and general Corporate Advisory work.
He joined Genesis Law Corporation as a Director in 2018. His current practice Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, FinTech advisory, Securities Regulations commercial contracts and general corporate advisory issues. He also regularly advises on Investment Funds and Competition-law related matters. His clients include major financial institutions and international conglomerates across Asia.
In addition to being recognized by The Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2007/2008 Ed, 2008/2009 Ed & 2009/2010 Ed), Benjamin has also been endorsed by Chambers Asia Pacific 2011 as a Leading Individual in Investment Funds (Singapore) where he is "highly rated for his client service".
Benjamin had served as a member of the Complaints and Disciplinary Panel which handles complaints lodged against members of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants from 2010 to 2014. He currently serves as a member of Law Society’s Disciplinary Committee.
Beyond the workplace, Benjamin enjoys taking part in community initiatives and is currently assisting in the Small Claims Tribunal as a Volunteer Tribunal Magistrate.
He also contributed to the Singapore Chapter of the International Comparative Legal Guides to Corporate Governance for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018.
