Eileen has been with Genesis Law Corporation since 2011 and currently maintains an active practice in corporate and commercial law. She started her legal career in the litigation depart of Drew & Napier, cutting her teeth on a spectrum of matters involving local and international commercial disputes. Having obtained a broad understanding of various disparate aspects of the law, she continued her practice in the international firms of Sinclair Roche & Temperley as well as Watson Farley & Williams, advising largely in the areas of non-contentious finance and corporate matters, particularly shipping finance, corporate re-structuring, debt and security arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other cross-border transactions.
During her time with these firms, Eileen was based in both London and Singapore, and also took on a secondment with major port operator in Singapore. Through these diverse experiences, she has gained a wealth of experience in working across national boundaries and is adept at communicating with a wide range of clients, ranging from individuals to SMEs to MNCs, in understanding and implementing their legal expectations and needs.
Eileen’s current practice is concentrated in the area of corporate law, with a particular focus on advisory and transactional work relating to acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate re-structuring, corporate finance, shareholder arrangements and attendant corporate/commercial areas such as employment law, compliance matters and various types of commercial contracts. She also regularly advises social enterprises and non-profit organisations on a range of incorporation, corporate structuring, employment, compliance and trust matters.
As part of her legal career, Eileen has also contributed to the editorial work and publication of the landmark Singapore Law Reports (Reissue) series by the Singapore Academy of Law, the definitive legal reports relied on by the judiciary and legal fraternity in Singapore, and has been engaged in the commissioning of various books and articles for local and Asian law journals. She has also published several children's educational titles with a major international publisher and contributed to numerous corporate, lifestyle and educational publications on a variety of legal and non-legal topics.
Eileen graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 with an LLB Hons (Second Class Upper) on the Dean’s List after receiving several scholarships. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore in 1996 and as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 1997.
