Having worked in big, medium-sized and small firms, Vivienne has acquired a wide variety of experiences in various areas and is adept at handling contentious disputes as well as non-contentious advisory and transactional matters for her clients who comprise individuals, small and medium enterprises as well as large multi-national corporations.
Vivienne has a broad-based commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution practice. Her areas of practice includes corporate / commercial disputes, partnership / shareholders disputes, building and construction matters, banking and finance, medical negligence, insurance matters, company law, property law, employment law, defamation and negligence claims, as well as general corporate and commercial matters. She also handles matrimonial matters, adoption applications as well as probate and administration matters. She constantly strives to seek cost-effective and practical solutions for clients and has assisted her clients in successfully resolving disputes either through the courts or through mediation.
Vivienne’s practice also includes non-contentious matters. She runs an active retail conveyancing practice and routinely acts for individual and corporate clients (including for various banks and financial institutions) in the sale, purchase, mortgage, lease and tenancy of residential and commercial properties. Vivienne also handles various non-contentious corporate advisory and commercial transactions including advising on general corporate matters, joint ventures, asset and business acquisitions, sale and purchase / shareholder agreements as well as general commercial contracts.
Through her various involvements in the charity and non-profit sector, Vivienne has acquired vast experience and expertise in charity laws and is adept at setting up and advising various kinds of non-profit organizations from start-ups to foundations, grantmakers, Institutes of Public Character, international charities,etc and is adept at addressing legal and regulatory issues for charities.
Vivienne graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1996. She was formerly a partner in Helen Yeo & Partners and in Rodyk & Davidson prior to setting up Genesis Law Corporation in 2004. She enjoys the practice of law and being able to make a difference to someone’s life through her work.
